Week 1: Find Your Slow

Can you believe January 2019 is already coming to an end? I don't know about you ladies, but the beginning of January always starts with a very high energy for me with the best of intentions to make this year better than the last. By the end of January, I tend to slip back into my old habits. I've spent 2018 though resetting my mindset and doing alot of internal work on myself, as well as becoming a trained Law Of Attraction and Abundance Coach. I've had the most wonderful (and challenging year) in 2018 and 2019 for me is the year of channelling my divine femininity and working with women who are ready to up-level their life. I've also made 2019 Alasia's 'Year Of Femininity' and am including my lovely readers and customers in some of the challenges of my passion project. WEEK 1: Meditate More!

As a yoga instructor, meditation has been part of my life for over a decade. The benefits of meditation are so clear, especially when I stop practising for a period. My coaching clients often tell me they have no time to meditate, but the truth  is, you can't afford NOT to meditate. If you will add just one thing to your morning routine this year, meditation should be it. Wake up 20 minutes before your alarm and put on the soothing music that, or YouTube video that helps you set your intentions and visualise the abundance that you desire. Picture your perfect day, and so it will be.

I switch my meditation practice from guided to unguided and still haven't settled on just one. Depending on my schedule, I like to meditate every morning for around 20-40 minutes. It helps me set my intentions for the day and start the day with mindful focused energy.

There are many different types of meditations, and finding the one best suited to you is completely personal. The two I practise myself are guided and mindful breathing meditations. I always coach my clients with guided meditations to help them visualise their desires and create a clear picture of where they want to be and how they see their future self. Bob Proctor always says about Law Of Attraction, 'if you can hold it in your mind, you can hold it in your hand'. The clearer and more familiar your desires are, the easier you will manifest them.

Mindful Breathing Meditation is a silent practice, with only bells to help signify the time passed. This type of meditation is about really being present in your body and paying attention to how you feel in your body, while counting your breaths. You pay attention to the air that fills your lungs, how your rib cage expands as your lungs fill with air. You feel the journey of the air pass though your nostrils and past your throat.

Vishen Lakhiani's 6 Phase Guided Meditation is a wonderful full sensoral meditation, a daily affirmation for manifesting abundance in every aspect of your life.

My favourite guided meditation is this one, which takes you on a boat ride down a peaceful stream. It's a great practice for releasing resistance.
